DIETER'S GENIUS is known for the ability to challenge the discipline of cooking while knowing the rules 100%. In his work frame, inspiration is only a small particle of a much larger effort, aimed at creating, pleasing, and innovating.

 

His cuisine has added to the prestige of Vila Joya with a two-Michelin star award and placing it on "San Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants" list as well as owning himself international fame and the Boa Mesa Prize in 2012. The quality of his cooking fits perfectly with the superior setting of the restaurant, overlooking the sea in the Algarve paradise.

 

The love he puts in and the investment of his time in his craft, shown by the subtle blend of different aromas, flavours and premium ingredients, are fundamental to the personal touch he gives to the Central European Cuisine he has chosen as palette, always being careful to choose local Algarve produce, and fish from the Mediterranean and Atlantic.

 

The extra dedication towards his work is proven by the annual call out of some of the world’s finest chefs for Vila Joya’s INTERNATIONAL GOURMET FESTIVAL during which he hosts “Koschina and Friends”, when with other chefs he creates a tasting menu of their signature dishes.
