Restaurant Parheuvel's master chef Erik van Loo has just confirmed his participation on our special Dutch evening on 11 November. He'll be performing alongside Jonnie Boer, Hans van Wolde, Ron Blaauw and Jacob Jan Boerma.

‘Cooking is creating flavours. It is like giving a part of yourself away to a guest.’

Restaurant Parkheuvel is situated at the park in the heart of Rotterdam, close to the Euromast and right next to the river Maas. Here is where acclaimed chef Erik van Loo runs his studio of creations: 'Only one thing is important in my kitchen and that is quality. Real food, what you see is what you get. In my opinion, taste is knowledge, it is emotion, it is feeling and at last, taste is all about memory.'

 

Van Loo's sense of quality and perfection has made Parkheuvel one of the most acclaimed restaurants among connoisseurs in Holland. And the chef's attention to detail and presence has certainly made his creativity famous in his homeland: 'As a chef you have to be in your kitchen, you really have to dive into your dishes. Every flavour that you create, every ingredient that you use has to come back at its best. The final target is to create something which you can not exceed. That is where your creativity and knowledge is able to finish. Cooking is creating flavours. It is like giving a part of yourself away to a guest.'
